Intake Coordinator (Volunteer)
StandUp for Kids - Orange County was launched in 2003 with a single focus: to end the cycle of youth homelessness in our community. We work to provide basic needs, housing, mentoring support, care, and love to at-risk and homeless youth ages 12-24.
We are looking for a Volunteer Intake Coordinator to facilitate phone intakes, including TAY VSpadt. The Intake Coordinator is a critical position, the first line of contact with youth. This is a great opportunity to donate time, resources, and talent to support our important mission.
Position Summary
This position will receive and process confidential client information from a variety of sources including, over the phone, via fax, email, and in person, for StandUp for Kids Program. The Coordinator will enter and log calls, and dispatch call follow-ups to case managers.
Responsibilities
- Answer the phone live 70% of the time
- Conduct intakes live over the phone, from faxes, emails, or in person and upload them to our server..
- Input intakes in the data management system live or immediately after getting off the call.
- Keep daily logs current.
- Input data into appropriate data system.
- Generate reports as needed meeting prescribed deadlines.
- Adhere to consent and confidentiality provisions required by the ombudsman program, including the maintenance of confidential files and confidential information.
- Assist with special data related projects as needed.
Essential Functions
- Ability to use keyboard and phone to intake information.
- Ability to accept all complaints including reports of alleged abuse.
- Ability to answer the phone live.
- Compile and accurately report statistical data in conformance with established policies and procedures using the state required data collection.
Time Commitment:
- 2-4 hours per week, calendared projects and/or special events may require a few more hours (volunteers are responsible for tracking their hours and sending them to the Executive Director at the end of each month)

Description
StandUp for Kids fights to end youth homelessness by providing resources to homeless and at-risk kids. Resource rang from basic hygiene, healthcare, counseling, menroring, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation to support through our four core programs: Street Outreach, Mentoring, Outreach Centers and Apartment Support.
Aside from these resources and services, StandUp for Kids provides a caring community who values all homeless and at-risk youth. Our mentors and volunteers establish non-threatening relationships with youth and provide them with the lov and support of famlly, helping guide them to independence, education, and self-sufficiency.
