This exciting, summer volunteer opportunity, is one you will not want to miss! You will be able to enjoy the beautiful summer evenings, while taking in the tunes of beautiful summer evenings, while taking in the tunes of beautiful, local, gospel music, and meeting others from the community, all while helping to give back to our community. Located on the Community Garden's grass knoll, the Gospel on the Green event brings together community members to gather and enjoy each other's company while taking in the tunes of local gospel music! Volunteers will be asked to arrive at 5:30 PM and their duties include: Assisting with foot traffic as well as distributing Heartland Family Service informational materials to guests. In addition, if physically able, volunteers will be asked to assist with set up and tear down of performance equipment.

The mission of Heartland Family Service is to strengthen individuals and families in our community through education, couseling and support services.
Description
Since 1875, Heartland Family Service has responded to the needs of our area’s most vulnerable children and families. Each year the agency’s programs serve over 50,000 individuals of all ages -- from infants in our Family Works program to seniors in our Generations Community Center -- from more than 15 locations in east central Nebraska and southwest Iowa. We provide critical human services to the individuals and families who ultimately shape the future of our community through the following program areas:
PREVENTION: Inpatient and outpatient substance use treatment, OWI/DUI classes, problem gambling treatment
CHILD ABUSE: Shelter, home-based prevention services, parenting classes
COMMUNITY CENTERS & SERVICES: Centers for child care providers, girls and seniors; car loan service for low-income working parents with challenging credit history
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: 24-hour hotline; individual and group counseling services for victims; concealed emergency shelter for adults and their children; educational group for individuals who abuse
EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT: Services for children, refugees and their families; training and support for child care providers
MENTAL HEALTH: Counseling for children and adults; therapeutic K-12 school; support for chronic mental health illnesses; integrated health home services
HOMELESSNESS & FINANCIAL STABILITY: Hardship assistance for rent, utilities, medications; transitional and permanent supportive housing; donation center
