Heartland Family Service offers various services to our community, and we are always looking for volunteers! There is an urgent, upcoming need for volunteers at our Generations Community Center community garden.
We welcome volunteers at any level of gardening knowledge. We are happy to work with YOUR schedule. Monday mornings from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. will be when most volunteers are present as that is the recurring time slot to allow for them to volunteer prior to the afternoon heat. Volunteers can begin as soon as they complete their online volunteer application, which can be found at heartlandfamilyservice.org
The tasks range from painting garden beds, organizing the garden shed, applying fertilizer, pruning trees, watering plants, mulching, weeding, etc. There will be no heavy labor or use of power tools required. You are not required to bring any gardening tools or a history of gardening.
Your volunteerism will make a major impact on the community garden. Together, we can truly help to feed the north Omaha community!
See you in the garden!
