The goal of the One to One Friendly Call Program is to reduce loneliness and isolation that many nursing home residents experience. During this time of Covid-19, visitors are not allowed in nursing homes and activities within the facilities are limited. The need for connection is greater than ever before.
Would you enjoy being connected to a nursing home residents for personalized weekly calls? Through one phone call, once a week you can develop a meaningful and lasting friendship while brightening someones day.
Volunteers are required to attend a 1-hour virtual training session to help maximize and support the experience. For more information, please email Toma Tracy, ttracy@ifwcny.org.
