Most of us are aware the impact Covid 19 had on many people across the nation. However, many are unaware of the impact it had on the youths where more have been turned over to our already over capacity foster care systems, or have ended up in low income or at risk households due to the parents loss of income, and even more youths are now homeless. In fact, thousands of youths in our areas are homeless and hundreds of those between the ages of 14-18 are unaccompanied minors, meaning their are on the streets, or moving from friends house to friends house without being assigned a court appointed caregiver.
Many of these kids will continue to remain homeless. Some, will end up in the criminal court system as their efforts to survive turn them into taking desperate measures to obtain every day necessities such as shelter and food.
Many stop going to school out of embarrassment of not having adequate clothing or needed school materials. Some may have lost hope in a potential positive future. We are here to restore that hope by providing them with the opportunities, experiences, and resources to bring those hopes and dreams to life through hard work and perseverance.
For us to be able to do this, we need your help in obtaining the funds we need to operate and to create the programs, opportunities, and experiences the youths we serve need.
This volunteer opportunity time frame can be a short term or as long term as you would like to commit to. We understand that life gets busy and we appreciate any amount of time our volunteers give to help champion our cause.
What this position entails is simply sharing our website and social media accounts while explaining what we do and why we are doing it and asking those that see your posts to donate to our cause.
It is literally THAT simple, but it can make an incredible difference in the impact we can have on the lives that need us the most.

2 The Next Chapter is a 501(c)3 our EIN# is 86-1210721 though it's not pulling in the system here. Maybe it just needs a little more time.
Our organization was formed in response to being made aware of the desperate need to help youths between the ages of 11-21 who are homeless, in foster care, aging out of foster care, or in at risk or low income communities. We provide them with opportunities, experiences, and resources which will improve their self esteem, self confidence, and increase their real life skills in order to empower them into making better decisions for the next chapters in their lives.
We achieve this by providing mentorship/mentee programs, by partnering with value aligned community organizations and individuals, and through trainng programs and experiences they may not have had access to without out.
