JaxTHRIVE is a youth-led, non-profit organization with a mission to educate and inspire refugee, homeless and low income children. For this spring of 2021, we are offering virtual mentoring/tutoring opportunities to help students with their homework. Once their homework is done, mentors are encouraged to teach their students something new... how to play basketball, how to speak French, how to do the latest TikTok dance ...We are asking mentors to commit to at least one hour each week during a time that is convenient to the tutor.

For this opportunity, we are looking for someone to help us to design a Google App that JaxTHRIVE volunteers could use to sign up to tutor and our students could use to sign up to receive tutoring. This App would provide general information about JaxTHRIVE, it would share the various types of volunteer opportunities that are available along with a calendar and a way to register for the event. Students could register for tutoring in a specific subject along with a date and time they are available.

JaxTHRIVE is a youth-led, non-profit organization with a mission to educate and inspire refugee and low income children. We meet each Saturday during the academic year to tutor refugee students in vocabulary, reading, math and STEM. JaxTHRIVE is made possible by the generosity of donors as well as the energy and commitment of volunteers.
