Responsibilities

Catalyst Youth Network seeks an experienced Fundraising Manager to join a small but growing team of passionate people committed to building our non-profit to help bring equity and opportunity to disenfranchised youth in Oakland.

The Fundraising Manager will collaborate with the executive leader and other staff playing a critical role in furthering all three pillars of CYN’s work: Youth Development, Training Volunteers, and bringing together a Network of service providers and resources in one centralized place that centers around the youth of Oakland. The Fundraising Manager will help CYN to fundraise

through writing grants, communicating with donors and collaborating with the Executive Leaders and Board of Directors.

• Work roughly 4 - 6 hrs a week .
• Work mostly remotely.
• Be available to attend in person meetings with donors or grantmakers.
• Regularly collaborate with executive leadership.
• Help manage donor database.
• Hold a seat on the Fundraising Committees.
• Help Creating and implementing CYNs fundraising strategy and schedule.
• Research grants that are a good fit for CYN.
• Write and manage grants.

Requirements

• Experience in non-profit fundraising
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience Writing Grants or Scholarships
• Become proficient in the inner workings of our programs and be able to describe in detail how they function.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Creative thinking
• Highly resourceful
• Strong emotional intelligence
• Self-motivation
• Deep commitment to building equity and helping Oakland’s Youth.
• Be proficient enough to be able to define how our program functions.
• Search for fundraising leads,
• reach out to individuals
• Meet with potential donors
• write emails
• make phone calls
