We are reaching out to individuals and community partners to develop a network of volunteers and interns that are interested in supporting housing and homelessness initiatives locally.

Many of us have experienced both the personal and indirect impacts from COVID-19 and are looking for ways to rebuild. We know community collaboration is key as we seek to build our volunteer network along with internship to increase the ways YCAP can support our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Right now, we are building an interest list of volunteers and potential interns who would like to receive communications and opportunities as they arise. We currently have both active volunteer opportunities and are building internships for future opportunities.

  • Volunteering with one of YCAP’s partner shelters (both Newberg and McMinnville locations) to ensure continued shelter access for all.
  • Yard maintenance volunteer with YCAP shelter properties
  • File building/administrative volunteers (requires regular commitment)
  • 2023 Point In Time Homeless count interest list
  • Remote Volunteer and Future Internships at YCAP

Simply email our temporary coordinator and full time YCAP Housing Stabilization Director, March Runner: MarchR@yamhillcap.org to be on our Homeless Response Network volunteer list or internship interest and we will keep you informed of new opportunities and needs as they arise.

Thank you for your interest in addressing homelessness and volunteering or interning your time with YCAP!

Mission Statement

Our mission is to advocate for and assist persons toward self-sufficiency.

Description

Yamhill Community Action Partnership, a private nonprofit organization serving residents of Yamhill County since 1980, is one of more than 1,000 community action agencies nationwide. These agencies were created to promote the health, education and general welfare of Americans in need. We serve Yamhill County which covers 718 square miles and is home to approximately 95,000 people. Of these residents, 10% of families, 15% of individuals, and 24% of children under the age of 18 live below the poverty level. YCAP serves many of these low-income residents, such as seniors and those with disabilities who struggle with fixed incomes, as well as individuals and families who are in low-wage positions or seeking employment, survivors of domestic violence, migrant families, homeless families and at-risk youth. We are proud to have served our communities for almost three decades and pledge to continue this service on behalf of our residents for many years to come.
