Donor Network West is holding its 11 th Annual Donate Life Run/Walk, which supports organ and tissue donation (yes, that pink dot on your driver’s license). The Run/Walk is being held at Bishop Ranch Business Park in San Ramon on Saturday September18th, 2021. The event entails a 5K, 10K course and Kids Dash.

We are looking for volunteers to:

  1. Set up on the Friday before SEPT 17 th. From around noon to 4/5pm.
  2. Day of morning- 5:30am help set course
  3. Day of event 7:30am- help in vendor expo, direct people along the course, water and food stations, help hand out shirts and medals and more.
  4. Event Cleanup- 10:30am- 1:00pm

    5. Any volunteers with medical training please inform us on the volunteer sign-up sheet.

Light breakfast, volunteer t-shirts and community service hours will be provided for all!

If you are interested in helping, even if it is for a couple of hours, we would appreciate it! More details about the Run/Walk at 5k.dnwest.org. Our minimum age for volunteering without supervision is 14, but we highly encourage all ages to participate. We just ask that volunteers under the age be accompanied by a guardian. (e.g. parent, brother/sister, trusted friend/family member) Thanks!

Description

Donor Network West is a federally designated nonprofit, 501 (c) (3), organ procurement and tissue recovery organization. Established in 1987, we serve more than 13 million people and connect a donor’s gift to those in need in our service area of 40 counties in northern California and Nevada.

Organ, eye, and tissue donation offers the hope to heal. The generous decisions of donors and their families allow us to recover and allocate organs and tissues for transplantation and research. We are able to carry out our mission of saving and healing lives thanks to our partnership with 175 hospitals, doctors, nurses, more than 500 funeral homes and 44 coroners and medical examiners.

Donor Network West is a Donate Life organization accredited by the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) and the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB). We are also a member of Donate Life America, Donate Life California and Donate Life Nevada.

Our volunteers help to educate people in their communities and encourage them to have conversations about organ, eye and tissue donation with their families as well as participate in special projects/events.
