Mentors are provided tangible opportunities to support the vision of local schools. They assist the school in their goals becoming a reality and contribute to students reaching their full potential.

Mentoring opportunities vary greatly as each school setting and population is unique as are the capabilities and needs of students at every grade level.

Examples include:
* Tutoring - all ages and all subjects
* Reading to young students
* Sharing a weekly meal with a student
* Leading a small group activity
* Supervising activities
* Chaperoning events

Each interaction with a caring adult provides hope and encouragement to a student. It confirms that the student is important and valuable, demonstrating that someone believes in them.

UpWorks Enriching Schools is seeking mentors who believe the future is bright and that they can make a positive difference if given the opportunity.

Mentor candidates should be reliable, positive individuals who find fulfillment in working with students and see serving in schools as a great opportunity for building stronger communities.

Research shows that positive support from adults outside of the home is a key contributor to student's future success. We want mentors who want to serve in that role.

While each mentor's specific responsibilities will vary, all mentors need to be team players who are willing to be flexible and serve school leadership in their assigned duties.

Mentor Candidates are screened through a National Criminal and Sex Offender Search - Multi-Jurisdiction using Social Security Number + Name & Address Trace.
