ORGANIZATION: A Step Beyond

  • 16 people are interested

A Step Beyond works with students to provide underserved youth with opportunities that greatly expand their expectations and ambitions through dance education, academic support, and family services. Much of our academic program is based on STEAM education, introducing our students to careers and opportunities that they normally wouldn't be aware of. Students will meet regularly with the same mentor throughout the school year. Frequency will depend on the schedule of both the mentor and mentee. Mentors will build strong relationships with the mentee and serve as an example of someone who values education and the opportunities it unfolds.

Because college-readiness is such an important goal of our program, mentors should be college graduates or currently attend college. We are also introducing our students to career opportunities, so professionals already well established in their careers are also encouraged to apply.
