ORGANIZATION: I AM MENtality Youth Male Empowerment Project

I AM MENtality Youth Male Empowerment Project's mission is to enlighten the minds of male youth through mentoring and leadership development. We serve youth ages ranging from 5 to 18 years of age. We also offer variety of mentoring styles such as peer-to-peer, virtual, group, and individual mentoring that engages the various learning styles. I AM MENtality facilitates a leadership development academy that offers these courses leadership skills, conflict resolution, anger management, financial literacy, professionalism, health & wellness, effective public speaking, self-awareness, life skills, and character building. We offer after school programming, school base mentoring /OST programming, workshops, summer programming and conferences.

I AM MENtality is interested in individuals who possess a passion for the development youth. Volunteers must garnering skills such as effective communication skills(Phone/email, text), timeliness, self starters mentality, patience, goal centered, team centered, community focused and be teachable mentors. Each mentor is expected to volunteer a minimum of one hour weekly, being able to pass background check, participate in training/ professional development along with the willingness to comply with all rules and guidelines set by I AM MENtality Youth Male Empowerment Project.
