Communities In Schools of Chatham County's mentoring program involves matching a caring, trained adult who spends an average of 4 hours a month, one-on-one, with a young person. Staff provide supervision, support and activities throughout the commitment period. CIS CC also has 2 school based programs offering an array of services and support on site.
A caring, committed and dependable adult that displays good social and moral judgment. Must be at least 18 years old with reliable transportation. Major objective is to be a friend and role model by providing a caring one-on-one relationship by offering meaningful social, educational, recreational and vocational experiences as well as positive attention and monitoring which will help the young person to develop positive self esteem, new interests and the necessary skills to become a successful adult.
