Family Services of Westchester, Inc. (FSW) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing Westchester County with a broad range of social and mental health services that strengthen and support families, children, and individuals of every stage of the life cycle. Founded in 1954, our programs have grown to include youth mentoring (Big Brothers Big Sisters); a youth mentoring program serving at-risk youth ages 7-17 throughout Westchester County. Our community-based and school-based programs address the social and emotional needs of youth and provides them with an adult role model to help them make smart choices and avoid risky behaviors.

Mentor Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for participation in the Program, a Mentor must:
* *be at least 21 years of age (exceptions may be provided, on a case-by-case basis, only for site/school-based programs);
* *be willing to adhere to BBBS of FSW policies and procedures and guidelines;
* *agree to a one-year commitment to the Program;
* *commit to spending a minimum of eight {to ten} hours per month with his/her mentee;
* *maintain open and regular communication with his/her mentee;
* *satisfactorily complete the screening procedure;
* *be willing to communicate regularly with the Program coordinator and submit meeting and activity information on a monthly basis;
* *possess own mode of transportation or have access to reliable transportation;
* *for drivers, possess current driver's license, auto insurance, and good driving record;
* *never have been convicted of any crime involving child or animal abuse or child molestation;
* *never be a convicted felon
* *agree to maintain strict adherence to the Program's mandatory Alcohol, Drugs, Tobacco and Firearms policy
