As the challenges facing America's youth continues to grow, programs must become more creative in countering the steady stream of negative influences that youth face each day. One of the most effective methods is to provide a caring and responsible adult role model who can make a positive, lasting impression on a youth. Youth mentoring, talent enrichment, and support programs provide a forum in which volunteers can develop supportive relationships with at-risk youth to help them succeed through their adolescent years and beyond.

All volunteers are subject to a background check and are required to complete an extensive training program before being allowed to make any contact with youth. Their educational and community service background is a major factor in the selection criteria.
