ORGANIZATION: VIP Mentoring Program - Community Based

"VIP Mentoring creates high quality mentoring relationships for youth whose circumstances or risk factors reduce their potential to transition to a "productive adulthood."
We provide mentors to children between the ages of 7-17 with an emphasis on children ages 7-12.

- Makes a commitment to be matched with a VIP youth for one year

- Transports the child to and from activities

- Meets 3-4 times each month for a minimum 2 hours per meeting

- Reports meetings to VIP monthly

- VIP staff will support mentors and youth throughout the entire program.


You must have:
A valid Michigan driver's license
Transportation
Auto insurance

You must be:
At least 21 years of age
Willing to undergo a criminal history check

Seeking Male Volunteers: Yes

Minimum Match Commitment (in months): 12 months or longer

Type of Mentoring: One-to-One, Group

Youth Population Served: Adjudicated/court involved, First-Generation College, Foster, Residential or Kinship Care, Gang At-Risk, Gang involved, Homeless/Runaway, Incarcerated Parent, Low Income, Single-Parent Household

Mentoring Program Goals: Career Exploration, Friendship/Socialization, Reduce Recidivism

Ages of Youth Served: 7 and under, 8-10, 11-14, 15-18
