COACH Kids provides youth with hope to reach their God-given potential through safe and compassionate mentoring relationships. Through positive relationships, youth learn to make good choices and build strong foundations for a brighter future. We offer both community and school-based mentoring programs, providing the resources needed to encourage the at-risk youth in Clinton County.
COACH Kids mentors seek to provide a safe and compassionate relationship for an at-risk youth in Clinton County. They must pass a national background check, personal and pastoral references and an interview. (High school student must pass a probation check, as well as get approval from their school counselor and another reference.) Each mentor must be willing to commit to a year with one child and have a faith-relationship.
COACH Kids mentors are patient and understanding, recognizing that the youth are not perfect. They understand that their relationship is a partnership with COACH Kids and that it takes a community to make a difference. Mentors with COACH Kids see the best in their kid and the hope that they can give... one smile, one encouragement, one moment at a time!
