The Mission of Mid-Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters is provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. We provide services in varying capacities to Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Moultrie and Shelby Counties located in East Central Illinois. School Based Mentoring Services are offered in communities such as Altamont, Arcola, Atwood-Hammond, Charleston, Humboldt, Kansas and Mattoon are served by Mid-Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters.

For more than 40 years, Mid-Illinois Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. Most children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters are in single-parent and low-income families or households. Our organization strives to make meaningful matches between adult volunteers ("Bigs") and children ("Littles"). These matches are monitored and supervised by trained professional staff who work at creating the best possible outcomes for our volunteers and children.
