Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Illinois provides One-to-One mentoring services in a 7-county area that includes Macon, McLean, Champaign, DeWitt, Ford, Livingston and Piatt Counties. Mentors will visit their Little Brother or Sister 2-4 times per month and spend between 4-12 hours per month with them. The visits can take place in the community or at school depending on the schedule and interests of the mentor. Mentors must be able to commit for a minimum of one year for any mentoring relationship.
Mentors must be able to commit to one year of mentoring and commit to seeing their Little Brother or Sister 2-4 times per month. Mentors will spend time with their Little Brother or Sister developing a caring and trusting One-to-One mentoring relationship that will help the child make positive choices that lead to positive peer/adult relationships, academic success and avoidance of risky behaviors.
