As the Victim Advocate Intern you will:

  • Data entry and administrative duties including completion of documentation and logging entries, as well as maintaining case notes, statistics, and other information regarding client cases.
  • Work with department advocates to provide crisis intervention.
  • Participate in training with Advocates including a week of onboarding
  • Provide information, resources, referrals, and support to victims of Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault.
  • Complete phone intake interviews with new clients and complete referrals as necessary.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of support groups and webinars.
  • Research and collect information on other organizations’ services and their referral requirements.
  • Assist with crisis line support as needed
  • Help implement safety plans for a diverse group of clients.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in community meetings, forums, trainings and collaborations as required.
  • Help and support with education campaigns, support groups, presentations and any program activities as needed
  • Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, agency policies and other applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards.
  • Complete required trainings.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

CLUES is Minnesota’s largest Latino-led nonprofit organization, founded in 1981. Today it serves over 10,000 Latinos, immigrants, and neighborhood-based clients throughout the Twin Cities area. With offices in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, its current mission is to "Improve the quality of life of Latinos in Minnesota". CLUES’ family-centric model of delivery focuses on empowering clients to live healthy lives and become economically self-sufficient. We realize our mission by eliminating barriers and providing access to resources and opportunities for clients through education, skill-building, training, and delivering behavioral health programs that lead to self-sufficiency and prosperity.
