Malachi Center is seeking someone to come regularly (once a week) to sort donations. We are looking for a dependable volunteer! Volunteer hours are flexible and can be worked out with your schedule!

This will be a hands-on project with little oversight. We are seeking a regular volunteer to come and maintain our donation sorting process. Volunteers will sort through toiletry donations, package toiletry bags, and organize primarily in the storage room. Once you have been instructed on our donation intake process, your job will be to organize and sort donations.

Our storage room could use some TLC as our small staff struggles to maintain the storage of donations! This position would ease the burdens on our staff!

Mission Statement

Empower the individual, nurture the family, and build the community.

Description

The community of Malachi Center has long served the need of the near West Side of Cleveland. As the surrounding neighborhood became poor, the church responded with Ministries such as the Backdoor Sandwich Ministry and Monday Night Meal. To better serve the needs of area families and children trying to break the cycle of poverty, the Parish and Community of Malachi founded Malachi Center in 1985.

Malachi Center was founded with a mission to nourish the spirit, mind, and body of the family and youth of Cleveland’s West Side. Since its inception, Malachi Center has stayed true to that mission. The philosophy of Malachi Center is to assist individuals with filling physical needs as well as coal and emotional growth. The center views each individual as a whole person. The initial need that draws a person to Malachi Center is used as an entry point. Over time, people become connected to one another and the our community. This community serves as an extended family and provides one another with support and encouragement. The center strives to empower individuals to overcame the everyday challenges they face.
