The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) San Diego is looking for volunteers to serve in our Hospital Visitor Program at Naval Medical Center San Diego. Volunteers in this role simply act as a compassionate person who is willing to visit and talk with patients who may not have family or friends nearby.
Volunteer hours are Monday-Friday 4pm-8pm and Saturday-Sunday 9am-4pm. The typical time commitment is 3 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Present a professional, friendly and objective appearance
- Maintain a nonjudgmental demeanor, objectivity and confidentiality
- Serve as an NMCRS Ambassador
TIME COMMITMENT
- Minimum 2-3 hours per week, including travel time to/from Naval Medical Center San Diego
QUALIFICATIONS
- Commit to the team for a minimum of 6 months
- Complete NMCRS Orientation and Training
- Proof of childhood vaccines
- Complete medical screening
