"Caring, comfort, compassion, and conversation."
The Hospital Visitors Program with Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is an ongoing committment. You will be given a block of time to volunteer each week (you will stay on the same day/time for every week). Time off is acceptable, but we prefer to have volunteers in this role that will provide consistent, and dedicated service for this highly important role. Our hospital visitors provide inpatients the services which they are unable to accomplish for themselves and to give further assistance to help create a more positive atmosphere at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. Volunteers visit with patients, run errands within the hospital, provide assistance, and act as a liasion on behalf of the patient.
Training for all of our opportunities is done in house, so no prior experience is necessary. We are able to offer childcare and mileage reimbursements while you volunteer. We have many great opportunities to build your resume, meet new people, have fun, feel appreciated, and give back to the community! We'd love to tell you more, so don't hesitate to reach out to us today!
