This back-to-school season, Living Room Tutors is in need of more volunteer tutors! Because of the ongoing pandemic, many students are experiencing difficulties maintaining their academic trajectories. Living Room Tutors hopes to mitigate the negative repercussions of prolonged school closures by fostering connections between volunteer student tutors and students in need of tutoring.

Living Room Tutors is looking for capable high school and college students to take on the task of tutoring their younger peers and helping them through this difficult time. Tutoring is completely virtual and flexible to your work hours. Interested volunteers do NOT need to contact us, simply fill out our registration form, found below and also on our website. Once you fill out the registration form, you will be entered into our matching system. We will connect you with a fitting tutee as soon as possible.

Living Room Tutors believes in a world where every child can flourish in their academics despite difficult circumstances. Our mission is to first mitigate the impact of prolonged school closures during the COVID-19 pandemic and to then continue to offer our services beyond these difficult times. Building a strong foundation in early childhood education is critical in order to empower the next generation of change-makers. LRT strives to accomplish this by creating educational support through peer tutoring and mentoring.

Description

Living Room Tutors is a free online tutoring service aimed to support K-12 students impacted by prolonged school closures. Living Room Tutors offers student-led tutoring in a variety of K-12 subjects such as math, reading, science, literature, foreign language, AP courses, and ACT/SAT prep. Tutoring can also be offered in languages such as Spanish, French, Somali, Arabic, and Chinese to accommodate English-learner students.
