At Make-A-Wish, we believe wishes have the power to give children renewed energy and strength, bring families closer together and unite entire communities. Together, we can improve the lives of children battling critical illnesses by joining together to bring strength, hope and joy.
In 2021 amid the pandemic, more than 400 wishes were granted throughout Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana thanks to volunteers who conducted virtual wish discovery interviews and engaged their colleagues and communities.
Make-A-Wish is only able to create life-changing wish experiences with help from hundreds of local volunteers who bring our mission to life.
There are so many ways to have a positive impact on wish kids. Join us!

Wish Discovery volunteers work directly with wish children and their families to determine a child’s true wish. *virtual option
Wish Pals grow relationships and build excitement of the wish. *virtual option
Wish Celebration Volunteers then play an instrumental role in planning, creating, and fulfilling the child’s wish.

Description
We are on a quest to bring every eligible child’s wish to life because a wish is an integral part of a child’s treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness. This improves their quality of life and produces better health outcomes. A wish transforms the lives of children, their families, volunteers, supporters, medical professionals, and entire communities.
