Love the arts? There’s a place for your time and talent at The Creative and Performing Arts Center (CAPAC)! We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, part-time Administrative Assistant (AA) volunteer to join our small and dynamic Administrative Team (A-Team).

Responsibilities
  • Two(2) days per week (flexible hours)
  • Provide support to the Executive Director and other departments as needed
  • Scheduling and prioritizing tasks, deadlines, meetings, travel (on-and-off-site)
  • Recording and maintaining good filing systems for meeting minutes, financial documents, employee files, legal documents, etc.
  • Coordinate rehearsals and marketing performances
  • Prepare, pick-up, and record U.S. mail and deliveries
  • Interface with and maintain important relationships with members, vendors, and organizations
  • Book-keeping, filing, and preparation of financial affairs (e.g., donations, payments, audit, etc.)
  • Order and maintain office supply inventories
Qualifications
  • Pleasant attitude & passion for the arts
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, self-starting multi-tasker
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite and Mac OS skills are required.
  • 1-2 years administrative experience (preferably, supporting senior management)

  • Woodbridge, Virginia or Northern Virginia resident, preferred

  • Must pass a background check

On March 16, 2002, CAPAC founders gathered to discuss bridging the racial and social-economic divide to provide art opportunities for ages five and up in underrepresented communities. On February 11, 2004, the IRS recognized CAPAC as a 501 C 3 nonprofit organization.
