50/50 Leadership was founded in 2004 to promote women’s equal leadership. Women are half the population; our vision is that they be half the leaders. We have conducted several programs and many events and currently are focused on providing financial literacy programs for young women who grew up in foster care, who have suffered from domestic violence, have been incarcerated, or have been, or are homeless.

The 50/50 Leadership mentoring program connects mentors to women who have grown up in foster care, faced homelessness, or other adversities. Mentors share empowering lessons and guide them to master real world skills to help the mentee gain confidence and improve their careers.

We are looking for people who will support the mentors. This entails

- Conducting the training of new mentors as they come into the program.

- Lead a monthly call: Mentors join monthly support group calls to ensure the best relationship possible.

- Track Reports: Mentors report monthly on mentee activities and progress.

Mentors are required to

  • - Complete Mentor Application and screening interview
  • - Agree to a one-year commitment to the program once matched
  • - Attend mentor training and complete monthly activity reports

If you are ready to join our vibrant team of volunteers and are interested in this position, please reach out to us with a brief background on yourself to mentors@5050leadership.org.

Mission Statement

50/50 Leadership is committed to Empowering, Educating, and Inspiring women from all walks of life to become Leaders in their careers and communities. Make a difference.

Description

Established in 2004, we provide financial literacy programs to young women who have grown up in foster care, been incarcerated, been unhoused, and/or survived gender-based violence. In the past, we led leadership training programs and honored women who are making a difference around the world.

We feel that every girl and woman should have the opportunity to realize their leadership potential. Whether they are a leader in their home, at work, school or in the community.

We are women and men from all walks of life who agree that leadership should reflect the gender of the population: women make up more than half of the U.S. population and should be equally included in boardrooms, elected offices, academia, and all public and private enterprises and endeavors.
