Volunteer Drivers - Senior Grocery

Through the current Eat Home Yolo program, Yolo Food Bank has been providing our vulnerable neighbors who are over 65 years of age and those who are immunocompromised with a free food box delivered directly to their doorstep. Winters needs your help!

We are seeking highly motivated volunteers who would like to deliver food boxes to neighbors in need! The address below will be the central location where volunteers can safely pick up the appropriate number of food boxes needed along with their own unique delivery route. Each driver will be assigned up to 12 addresses which should approximately take up to 2.5 hours. Pick up of boxes will be available at the Food Bank facility in Woodland between 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Must be able to drive own vehicle
  • Be able to commit twice a month for at least 2 months
  • Must pick up boxes on scheduled Friday at YFB after 2:00 pm
  • Must wear closed toed shoes
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds

Description

Yolo Food Bank is looking for caring, responsible, and respectful individuals or groups to help provide folks in our community with ongoing access to healthy foods. We are currently looking for volunteers to fill slots volunteering at distribution sites around Yolo County with socially distanced and contactless drive-thru and pick-up distributions. We also need volunteers to work on-site at Yolo Food Bank repackaging dry product, organizing boxes of food for residents in need, and assisting warehouse procedures.
