ISO: Volunteer Assistant Facilitator - Equine Assisted Learning / Horse Powered Reading Program

We are seeking a Volunteer Assistant Facilitator for a new Equine Assisted Learning - Horse Powered Reading program with a non-profit equine charity organization in Simi Valley, CA. This is a summer opportunity to work with mindfulness and literacy skills for children and youth, through facilitated literacy and learning practice with equine partners. We would like to offer this Volunteer position to someone who is studying to become certified in EAGALA, or someone experienced in literacy / teaching reading who has horse experience. This program will be offered to students individually or in small groups up to 3 children per session. Sessions will be offered throughout the summer between June and early August, twice a week for a 1 to 2 hour session in the morning, or late afternoon. We are an Adoptions Partner with Ventura, L.A., Santa Barbara, San Bernadino County Animal Services / ACC. We are beginning a new EAL Program called Horse Powered Reading for summer enrichment for youth in our community.
