ORGANIZATION: VANTAGE Aging RSVP

Volunteers are needed at The Children’s Center (CCMC) to help with general tasks important to day to day operations and programs. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance and must always be maintained.

Development:

  • Aids with ordering office supplies and researches the cost of supplies
  • Administrative support (data entry, filing, mailings, etc.)
  • NCATrak database data entry
  • Create or print documents for CAC direct services
  • Prepare Case Review documents for MDT Meeting
  • Monitor children in lower level playrooms during child abuse cases
  • Follow up with families
  • Prepare backpacks/suitcases to send with children after a medical visit
  • Create flyers, brochures, and signs
  • Attend team meetings or events
  • Other tasks as requested
Requirements:
  • Adhere to agency policies and procedures
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential
  • Problem-solves, and/or recommends solutions to various issues/opportunities as they develop
  • Contribute to productivity, efficiency and cost effectiveness
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to be flexible
  • Ability to adjust to change and uses efficient organizational skills
  • Demonstrate self-initiation and creativity
  • Work effectively with individuals from various economic, social, and cultural backgrounds
  • Represent the organization in a professional manner, when assigned for outreach and educational activities, special events, or projects
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must pass a background check and have a copy on file with the Center
  • Must have a completed Volunteer Application or Resume on file
  • Valid driver’s license, transportation, vehicle insurance required
  • Proficient in the use of a computer including typing, email, internet, websites, Microsoft programming and ability to learn other computer programs
Physical Requirements:
Volunteers may be required to lift up to 10-15 lbs. on occasion and may spend approximately 50% of the time sitting, 20% standing, 20% walking, 10% stooping, climbing and kneeling.

Description

VANTAGE Aging promotes positive aging through a variety of programs and services for older adults. Our nonprofit organization serves 38 counties and is headquartered in Akron, Ohio. In Summit and Medina Counties, we facilitate the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) for those 55 and older who want to make a meaningful impact in the community. We also offer employment training, home care and home health aide assistance, nutrition and home-delivered meal services, alcohol and drug addiction counseling, and mental health and prevention services.
