The Krewe of The Scarlett Fortuna is looking for dedicated volunteers to join our team! Our organization is a pirate themed group that promotes literature one 'R' at a time. We do this by doing themed events at various locations (ie schools, hospitals, festivals, etc), setting up a historically themed pirate careening camp (tents and show how pirates could have lived), and highlighting our Bookaneer Tent where children can each take a book home of their choice (while supplies last of course!). The sky is the limit as to how deep the rabbit hole gets with your personal volunteering opportunity.
There are no fees to be apart of our organization. All we ask is the desire to work with the children/public, become a grand pirate (or Mermaid even!), and have an amazing experience volunteering with The Scarlett Fortuna!
Expect an email response from our President and Primary Contact from Volunteer Match, Anthony Noble! If you do not see a response in a few days, double check that Spam folder for a message from TheScarlettFortuna@Gmail.com
Thank you for an interest in the organization, and we look forward to hearing from you soon!

Mission Statement
We the Krewe of the Scarlett Fortuna birthed in Pinellas, Florida work towards promoting education and reading among school age children by partnering with charitable organizations and foundations, performing themed events, and bringing their literature alive. Collectively as a Krewe, we strive to earn funds to assist with our events and donations to further our cause as we work to restore the fun and excitement in learning by promoting their literature one 'R' at a time.
Description
Our organization was formed in April 2011 after our group of volunteers switched from Medieval Literature Presentations to the world of Pirates. Since then, we have been a registered Non-Profit with the State of Florida. As of January 2018, we have been approved as a 501(c)3 Organization and are quite excited for the potential of the future with our cause.
Our team has traveled to events across the State of Florida and beyond, done digital presentations for children out of state, visited hospitals, schools, festivals, and more! Our historically themed careening encampment is a highlight for most events, we also perform interactive presentations, run a mobile book tent where children can receive a free book, and much more. We look forward to working with more great volunteers in the future! Huzzah!
