Interested in volunteering with us to combat period poverty and improve menstrual health but desiring a more active and influential role in your own community?

Start a SAPP chapter in your local school (as a club) or in your community! Chapter heads are given full control over their own organization and can run their own volunteer programs, advocacy efforts, and more. It's a great way to gain more leadership experience, board management skills, financial literacy, and advocacy skills while being a part of our award winning nonprofit. We have no requirements to start a SAPP chapter except being passionate about menstrual-health equity and striving to make a difference in the community. This is a great alternative as well for those interested in partaking in our CAPP-IT volunteer program to earn service hours but not wanting to physically mail the care packages, menstrual products, or letters to us.

For more, fill out the form at tinyurl.com/chapterinterest and one of our officers will get in touch with you shortly. Feel free to contact us at contact@sappusa.org if you have any questions.

Mission Statement

Students Against Period Poverty strives to alleviate impoverished menstruators from period poverty in our communities through service, education, and advocacy, one menstruator at a time.

Description

At Students Against Period Poverty we pride ourselves on alleviating impoverished menstruators from period poverty in our communities. Our nonprofit was founded in April of 2020 as a community group to combat the lack of awareness of period poverty during the pandemic and slowly grew to a full-fledged nonprofit where we are now. Today, we've expanded to 4 chapters across the Bay Area (Fremont (headquarters), Milpitas, Union City, and Cupertino) while offering a wide range of services from volunteer programs for volunteers to create menstrual care packages and letters for shelters (tinyurl.com/cappitguide), anonymous grab-n-go menstrual item pickups in the SF Bay Area, menstrual health lessons to schools, a period product request form, and more!
