ORGANIZATION: VANTAGE Aging RSVP

Volunteers will visit their assigned family in their home twice a week for a 1/2 hour each visit. They will provide a designated book/toy to the family. The visits occur approximately September 1 through April 30. We are looking for a two year commitment with each family. The program follows the school calendar year with various vacation weeks/makeup weeks throughout.

Each week there is a 2 hour staff meeting to discuss how the families are doing. Volunteers go through a 16-hour training prior to beginning visits and need a background check before beginning.

Volunteers should have a love of children and a desire to help parents educate their children. They should also be interested in early literacy, love to read, love helping children and families, and making an impact on a young child and parents. Volunteers will be serving under-resourced families in Medina with 2-4 year olds by providing parents and their children the skills, resources, and assistance to be prepared for school and life success.
