Retail Resource Coordinator - Volunteer

We are looking for an outgoing and organized person to help us build relationships with local and national clothing & shoe retail stores. Most retailers have programs where they donate their overstock to non-profits and Note in the Pocket would love to be on their list of organizations that receive those donations!

Job description: Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Retail Resource Coordinator will help raise awareness of Note in the Pocket's mission in order to enlist retail businesses to support our agency through donations and volunteer activities. The Retail Resources Coordinator is primarily responsible for building a network of retail contacts and resources, speaking with and building relationships with store managers, and coordinating donations from that store. Someone with a background in retail or understands the retail business would be ideal. Excellent communication skills (in person and via email) are expected. You can donate as much or as little time per week as your schedule allows.

We will hold brief interviews (via zoom or in-person) and choose the best person for the position. Interested candidates, please email Tammy@noteinthepocket.org.

Mission Statement

Note in the Pocket's Mission Statement: Note in the Pocket provides clothes to homeless and impoverished students in Wake County. We believe it is unacceptable that children are limited in their educational and social development due to a lack of appropriate clothes.

Note in the Pocket is a 501c3 organization providing clothing to homeless and impoverished schoolchildren in Wake County. To meet our goal to clothe 5000 in 2020, we are expanding our Volunteer Center hours in an effort to keep pace with our rapidly growing clothing donations (200,000 pounds in 2019) and to allow us to expand the number of individuals and volunteer groups we can accommodate (volunteers logged over 15,000 hours in 2019).
