Volunteer opportunities are available for a wide range of skill levels and experiences. The primary focus for volunteer help is in the general care of the animals which is broken up into 3 categories: wildlife (which requires training and becoming a subpermitee), barn (which also requires training under a staff member or experienced volunteer), and the dog kennel (which requires training under a staff member or experienced volunteer). These 3 categories of animal care encompass a wide range of need of help such as: preparing/passing out feedings, washing dishes, cleaning/disinfecting of those areas, enrichment, and basic grooming. Volunteer help is also needed for help with maintaining the grounds of the 52 acre farm. Those tasks may include: picking up yard waste/debris, gardening, and basic landscaping projects. There is also a large need for volunteers that are experienced with general labor/maintenance for projects such as: help with building new enclosures, repairs to existing enclosures, painting, constructing items at times for aiding in efficient operations of the farm. We are also in need for volunteers who can help with general housekeeping tasks such as: cleaning the house, the apartment in the barn, washing dishes, doing laundry, organizing storage areas, organizing donations, and helping with grocery shopping. The reality is we have a large-scale operation that involves many moving parts to provide the best possible care to the animals in our care. Volunteer help is needed, and can be used in many areas, and if there is something you feel you can do that may help, we are sure we can find the use of your time and help where you feel comfortable!
