ORGANIZATION: Regency SouthernCare - Macon

Regency Southerncare Hospice is looking for willing hearts to provide companionship and emotional support to patients with life limiting conditions and their caregivers. Our patients reside in their homes, the home of a family member, senior communities. assisted living communities or nursing homes throughout Houston and surrounding counties. Our volunteers are here to help meet non-medical needs of our patients, their families, and our staff. Here are a few examples of how our Companionship Volunteers can serve:

  • Engage with our hospice patients through any of the following:
    • Provide companionship and emotional support.
    • Provide a listening ear.
    • Encourage them to share life experiences.
    • Play games (cards, board games, etc.)
    • Watch TV with patients.
    • Read to patients.
    • Sing/play an instrument to patients.
    • Provide respite care for a caregiver to run errands.

You choose how you want to serve and how often.

NO medical experience is needed as volunteers DO NOT perform nursing duties or dispense medication.

***Our office is located in Macon, GA although we provide care for patients throughout Middle GA to include Houston County.***
