The Program Assistant (Volunteer) will work to support the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) Jail Based Services Program. The position will be based at the Adult Detention Center (ADC) and will assist a team of social workers and licensed counselors who provide treatment services to individuals in need of support related to homelessness, mental illness, and/or addiction.

This position requires a person with strong clerical and organizational skills as they are responsible for managing a variety of tasks including technology set up for client/clinician sessions, data gathering, and referral tracking.

*The applicant should be comfortable in a correctional setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists with data gathering and tracking referrals.
  • Assemble transition backpacks for client re-entry.
  • Technology set-up and assistance for client/clinician sessions.
  • Maintains all appropriate program logs, records, and information and assists with input of clinician notes.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.).

This is an unpaid position.

The times and days available are flexible and include some evening and weekend opportunities, as well as regular weekday hours. By providing direct service, administrative support, or participating in special projects, volunteers are valuable members of our team.
