We are seeking people in the Charlotte, Triad, and Western Regions of NC who have daytime, weekday availability and a passion for working with children. In this role, you work as a team with a Wish Specialist (Make-A-Wish staff) to determine a child’s wish ideas and capture all the important elements to give them a truly life transforming wish experience. You are also responsible for creating meaningful boosters for the child to accentuate the excitement of the wish!
Requirements for a volunteer role:
1. Must be at least 18 years old
2. Weekday availability
3. Complete and submit volunteer paperwork
4. Complete a self paid background check (The cost is roughly $26 and are run once every three years)
5. Complete our annual Conflict of Interest form (due every January)
6. Attend a Wish Granter Training
7. Purchase a t-shirt at the training or from makeawishmarketplace.com to wear on your Wish Discovery Visits
8. Plan and deliver one booster per wish (i.e. care package, countdown calendar, send-off gift etc.)
9. Sign up for a minimum of 8 wishes per year

Make-A-Wish Central & Western North Carolina has granted more than 5,300 wishes since its inception in 1985. We seek to bring every eligible child's wish to life because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight their illness.
