While this year on the farm has looked very different, we've continued to provide essential programming and resources to East San José during these uncertain times. We are extremely grateful for the time that you spent on the farm over the years, and have greatly missed your impact these last few months. But I wanted to reach out with a new opportunity during the next two months that we are excited to offer to groups like yours.
Veggielution, in partnership with Off the Grid, has been able to create a San José COVID Food Relief Program through the end of this year. Veggielution is identifying local farms, specifically BIPOC-owned farms to supply organic fruits, vegetables, grains, beans, and meats. For us, it is important to provide the highest quality of groceries that we can for those who need it the most in San José...and we are looking for VOLUNTEERS! From now until the end of the year we are looking for individuals and groups to join us in boxing farm produce for those who need it the most in our community. Boxing will happen Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8am to 12pm, There's no experience necessary and we follow all of Santa Clara County Public Health Department COVID protocols.

About Veggielution Community Farm

Location:

647 S King Rd, San Jose, CA 95116, US

Mission Statement

Veggielution empowers youth and adults from diverse backgrounds to create a sustainable food system in San Jose. Our urban farm engages the community by providing access to healthy and local food, creating youth leadership opportunities, and developing creative solutions to social and environmental justice issues.

Description

Veggielution is a non-profit community farm dedicated to creating a more sustainable food system in San Jose. We empower people to change the way they think about food by getting their hands in the soil, connecting with the land, and tasting the fruits of their labor.

The Santa Clara Valley, its soil, ecosystem, and watershed are important resources for future generations. We will be a catalyst for food system change by providing local community with access to a unique open space, organic local food, educating people about sustainable farming, and engaging the community to advocate for policy change. We are uniquely equipped to bring people from different backgrounds together in a shared vision of a organic, local food system.
