Cool Kids Clubhouse supports pediatric oncology patients through free academic, social, and emotional supports. We are hosting a fundraising dinner to raise awareness and funds in support of our mission to improve the quality of life for children battling cancer, their families and survivors.

Our event is called Celebrating the Summer Solstice with dinner in white. Mirrored after a worldwide event, Diner en Blanc, spanning six continents in which people from all backgrounds come together to enjoy an elegant meal dressed in white knowing they are taking part in a truly magical event. Our guests can look forward to an elegant picnic meal provided by Chef Steve Jordan from On the Nines Bistro, complimentary champagne, cocktails, live music, a silent auction, and a chance to light up the sky.

All guests, staff and volunteers are asked to dress in white to keep with the magic of the evening.

Description

The Cool Kids Clubhouse supports the Coolest Kids Fighting Cancer through free programs and services for the children with Cancer, their siblings and parents:

  • Professional, one-on-one online tutoring
  • Virtual Programming to reduce isolation and loneliness of the immune compromised child
  • Kids movie nights/parents’ night out
  • Summer Drop Off Days at the Clubhouse
  • Smile celebrations to honor the birthday or treatment milestone of a child with cancer at our Cool Kids Clubhouse
  • Vacation condo in Myrtle Beach, SC
  • Parent support groups
  • Cancer lesson plans for teachers
  • Crafts and lunch during treatment days at the hospital
  • Care packages for families of newly diagnosed patients nationwide

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 16
  • We are asking volunteers to choose from one of the three hour shifts available. 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm or 7:30pm - 10:30pm. Volunteers may also work the entire evening and will provided with dinner if you are able to work from 5:30pm - 10:30pm.
  • Volunteers must wear all white. Outfits may be shirts, pants, shorts, dresses or skirts, it doesn't matter as long as your attire is all white.
