We allow volunteers to create menstrual care packages and write letters for domestic violence shelters while earning service hours eligible for the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. One menstrual care package created equals 1 service hour earned while one letter written equals 0.5 service hour earned. Alternatively you may simply donate us menstrual products (contact us for more info). Check out https://tinyurl.com/cappitguide for more information and to signup. Mission Statement

Students Against Period Poverty strives to alleviate impoverished menstruators from period poverty in our communities through service, education, and advocacy, one menstruator at a time.

Description

At Students Against Period Poverty we pride ourselves on alleviating impoverished menstruators from period poverty in our communities. Our nonprofit was founded in April of 2020 as a community group to combat the lack of awareness of period poverty during the pandemic and slowly grew to a full-fledged nonprofit where we are now. Today, we've expanded to 4 chapters across the Bay Area (Fremont (headquarters), Milpitas, Union City, and Cupertino) while offering a wide range of services from volunteer programs for volunteers to create menstrual care packages and letters for shelters (tinyurl.com/cappitguide), anonymous grab-n-go menstrual item pickups in the SF Bay Area, menstrual health lessons to schools, a period product request form, and more!
