Volunteer Walk MS

Bike MS brings us together to change the world for everyone affected by MS. It’s an experience driven by passion, camaraderie and desire to make a difference. From volunteers who help you refuel at rest stops to cyclists encouraging you on the route, we’re all in this together.

The Bike MS community has raised more money than any other cycling event for any other cause. To date, Bike MS cyclists, volunteers, and donors have raised more than $1.4 billion to stop MS in its tracks, restore what's been lost, and end MS forever.

Over the last several months and in preparation for the 2021 Bike MS season, our staff has been working through various event scenarios to create the safest environment possible for our participants, volunteers, staff, and host communities. After much discussion, we have made the decision to move our traditional two-day Bike MS: Escape to the Lake tour to an abbreviated one-day ride.

Please consider joining us for the day at Bike MS: Escape the Lake on Saturday, June 12th, 2021!

As you know, we can not have this event without our amazing medical volunteers and we need your help now more than ever! COVID-19 Update

MS doesn’t stop because of this crisis, and neither will we. But we will implement a variety of new protocols in keeping with current guidance on event attendance from the CDC, state, city and other local agencies to keep our participants, volunteers, staff and host communities as safe as possible. These practices may be adjusted as directed by evolving medical information to ensure your safety at this year’s events. Here’s what to expect:

  • Masks - will be required by all volunteers and staff at all times. Riders will not be required to wear masks while riding outdoors.
  • Participants will be asked for additional self-sufficiency as well as doing their part by conscientiously practicing physical/social distancing, frequently washing hands, using hand sanitizer, and not participating if they are feeling unwell or showing any signs of illness.
  • Event support will also look different, with enhanced no touch protocols, "self-service" pre-packaged food and beverage, contactless check-in’s, enhanced health screening and more.

We will continue to share the most accurate and reliable guidance possible to help people with MS find their best path forward through this unprecedented crisis.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We really appreciate your willingness to support our mission in the midst of these challenging circumstances.
