Volunteers Needed for Fun Community Pet Event!

Better Neighbor Project hosts Pet Wellness Day events in and around Los Angeles where pet owners are provided with free pet related services and resources. Through these events, our partners are able to provide pets with free basic pet wellness and hygiene care, low-cost spay & neuter, and humane education!

Next Pet Wellness Day events:

• Saturday, August 20th in East LA - East LA Civic Center, 4801 E 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90022

Help BNP’s small but mighty team successfully produce safe and fun events for both pet owners and the pets we serve!

Volunteers will be responsible for providing on-site event support which can include but is not limited to the following:

• Unloading/loading supplies and setting up/breaking down vendor booths
• Assembling/distributing pet resource kits or pet food
• Line management
• Managing Michelson Found Animals booths (ex. pet supply giveaway booth, check-in, etc.)
• Refilling dog water bowls, waste bags stations, etc.
• Manage parking and/or provide directions to clients
• Able to perform the assigned tasks, independently run assigned event booths, and willing to adapt to last-minute changes
• Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive attitude when interacting with clients and their pets

Required Training/Qualifications:

• Must be at least 13 years old, and 13-15 year olds must volunteer with a guardian. Volunteers are welcome to bring a family member or guest with them with no prior sign up. No experience necessary to volunteer for an event day - we'll train on site!
• Possess a basic range of motion and energy to complete simple tasks such as sweeping, wiping down, lift and/or move up to 25lbs, etc.
