The front desk volunteer answers phones, greets walk-in guests and clients with appointments, and assists with mailings and other clerical duties as requested. Volunteers must be 16 or older and pass a Washington State Patrol background check. Habitat for Humanity is not able to sign off on court-ordered community service hours.
Position Duties Include:
- Greet and direct walk-in clients and those who have appointments with staff
- Answer the phone and direct the calls to the appropriate staff
- Field questions about Tacoma Habitat; refer callers to appropriate staff
- Retrieve voicemails (when appropriate)
- Stock and clean COVID check-in station at the end of the day
Skills and Requirements:
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Knowledge of Microsoft products helpful
- Knowledge of office procedures helpful
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt
Shifts:
Monday through Friday
1pm - 5pm
one volunteer needed per shift

Reports to:
Finance department (staff on duty will vary)
What to Wear:
Business casual clothing; jeans are appropriate
