ORGANIZATION: My Sister's House

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 8 people are interested

My Sister’s House began in 2000 as a public campaign to establish the organization as Sacramento’s (in fact the Central Valley’s) first agency to address domestic violence in the Asian and Pacific Islander community. Our mission is to serve Asian and Pacific Islander and other underserved women and children impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking by providing a culturally appropriate and responsive safe haven, job training and community services.

Currently, we are looking for a few volunteers to help us on Mondays in sorting donations in our drop-off site in order to prepare for the grand opening of our thrift store. Once the thrift is open, we would love your help to help us stock shelves as well as provide customer service to those browsing.

Tasks include:

-Greeting customers
-Answering phones and directing foot traffic
-Organizing and sorting donations (women and children's clothing, toys, household items, etc)
-Organizing displays
-Tidying up donations area
-Informing donors of items needed

If you are interested, please let us know by emailing me at slong@my-sisters-house.org. Thank you for your consideration!
