Did you know that American Red Cross volunteers respond to over 60,000 disasters every year? From offering a shoulder to cry on, to meeting any immediate needs for shelter or supplies, to connecting people with long term recovery services, our volunteers ensure that families don’t have to face tough times alone.
We need you!
Help Dispatch volunteers to go help in the community by becoming a Regional Deployment Team Member:
- Monitor our system for worker needs during a disaster response both locally and throughout the country.
- Support territory deployment teams by running reports
- Monitor regional mailbox and convey important information to the territory teams.
- Back-up for territories as they identify, recruit, assign, and support qualified Red Cross members
Training:
- 8-10 hours
- Combination of online classes, video recordings, and 1-on-1 training session
Commitment:
- Able to commit for at least 6 months of service
- Monitor system and mailbox once everyday
- 1 day/weekday -between 9am-5pm. Actual work times vary from 1-5 hours per day depending on the size and scope of the disaster
