New York City-to-Philadelphia East Coast Greenway Ride Opening Ceremonies

We are in search of volunteers to help us at the opening ceremonies.

From cheesecake to cheesesteak! The East Coast Greenway Alliance’s inaugural New York City-to-Philadelphia Greenway Ride travels from one iconic city to another, with lots of beautiful Garden State greenway in between. After departing New York we'll end for the day in Princeton, New Jersey, and head on the next day for an end-of-ride celebration in Philadelphia.

Proceeds from the 2-day, 125-mile fundraising ride will benefit the nonprofit East Coast Greenway Alliance. In particular, fundraising will help accelerate the development of the route in New York City, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Roughly 1,000 miles of our Maine to Florida route is on protected greenways, and our organization is working daily to move the entire route off-road as close to 2030 as possible.

We need approximately 100 volunteers to fill various positions at our opening ceremonies. The majority of positions have a shift time of 6:00am to 10:00am. This is a perfect opportunity for large groups to come together and get involved to support the riders and the East Coast Greenway.

The positions we are looking to fill are the following:
- Traffic Control
- Greeters
- Bike Parking
- Bike Shipping
- Food and Beverage handlers
- Check in (gear, medical, sign-in, etc...)
- Sanitation monitors
- Merch tent
- Set up
- Break down

In order to keep all participants safe we have a comprehensive covid-19 mitigation plan in place which is based on CDC and local health department guidelines. All participants will be fully vaccinated for this event.
