Thompson Drive, a new non-profit youth development organization based in the Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY, is seeking an experienced Grant Writer to help identify, write and apply for the agency's inaugural foundation and corporate grants.

Thompson Drive was concieved prior to the Covid-19 pandemic as there was an extreme lack of resources for youth in this community. The pandemic has only heightened the needs of teenagers in this neighborhood especially with regard to the challenges of remote learning. Youth that were already struggling academically prior to the pandemic have found themselves falling even further behind in their education. Lack of positive social interaction with peers and non-family members has also created additional stresses for many Brooklyn youth.

In our first year of service we have a goal of securing $50,000 from up to 10 foundations and corporate grantmakers who are willing to invest in our start-up operations. Tasks will include researching and assessing funders and drafting persuasive grant proposals. Strong writing and communication skills are required; previous grant writing experience is a must. We seek an experienced grants professional who is excited about our mission and about helping to put Thompson Drive on the road to success!
