Under the supervision of the Volunteer Manager the Caring Bear Ambassador Volunteer provides support to Caring Bear Sewing Volunteers and is the liaison between grieving families and our Caring Bear Sewing Volunteers. The Caring Bear Ambassador will make the initial visit to the family to collect the cherished items which will be used to sew the memory bear, quilt, or pillow. This visit is considered a Volunteer Bereavement Visit. The Caring Bear Ambassador will provide the Caring Bear Sewing Volunteer with the materials to complete the project. Description
What is Hospice?
Hospice is a type of specialized medical care that provides compassionate physical, emotional, spiritual and practical support to people in the advanced stage of illness. During this time, individuals may experience shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, pain, and other distressing, life-limiting symptoms, giving rise to new and different needs, worries and concerns. Yet with hospice’s dedication to symptom relief and support, many critically ill people are better able to focus on what is important to them during this stage of life.
