ORGANIZATION: THE ALEXANDER FOUNDATION

The Alexander Foundation is completely volunteer run. The Board of Directors is a working board, meaning that all organization operations are conducted by the Board and program area committees.

Reporting to the Vice Chair, the Events Director will oversee The Alexander Foundation events. This role includes planning both large and small scale event planning, supervising a committee of volunteers, and supports the organization’s fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities:

Events

  • Identify prospective events, coordinate the planning of each event, and reporting on event success and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work in partnership with Development Director and Marketing & Communications Director to market event, ensure that the event supports our Development program objectives.
  • Identify potential collaborations with other organizations with aligned missions.
Leadership and Management
  • Recruit and supervise event committee to support the development and improvement of events, support planning, and ensuring event staffing.
All board members are expected to serve as ambassadors for the organization: articulate The Alexander Foundation's mission, accomplishments, and goals. It is also an expectation that all Board Members fundraise on behalf of The Alexander Foundation: soliciting donations, identify potential sponsors, and networking with donors.

Founded in 1981, The Alexander Foundation is a public, non-profit 501(c)3, philanthropic organization. Through our Community, Catastrophic, and Holiday assistance programs, as well as educational scholarships, the foundation has created a tradition of caring for the LGBT community. For over 40 years, the foundation has provided millions dollars to those in need. Most importantly, such assistance has built a stronger LGBT community, and transformed thousands of lives throughout Colorado.
