The Senior Resource Alliance is looking for SHINE volunteers. SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) is a statewide volunteer program that offers seniors, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers free, unbiased
counseling on Medicare, prescription drugs, and other health insurance matters.
The SHINE SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol) Program empowers and assists Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud, errors, and abuse through outreach, counseling, and education.
The rewards for volunteering with SHINE are abundant. Individuals complete a professional training by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs and Senior Resource Alliance; serve the community by educating others on an individual basis and through outreach events; gain knowledge about Medicare to benefit themselves and loved ones; and become a part of an award-winning team.
